Infrastructure
Your own servers, networks and firewalls — designed, deployed and managed on our infrastructure, without the overhead of building and maintaining it yourself.
Built on our own hardware
Cloudient runs its own physical infrastructure across European data centres. We do not resell hyperscaler services or rely on third-party cloud platforms. This gives us complete control over the environment — from the hardware through to the application layer — and means we always know exactly where your data is.
Our infrastructure runs entirely on open source software. There is no proprietary dependency, no vendor lock-in at the platform level, and the full stack is auditable.
What we provide
Virtual machines
Dedicated virtual machines provisioned to your specification. Suitable for running applications that need a full operating system environment, SSH access for your team, or workloads that don't suit containerisation. VMs can be hardened with audit logging and configured with appropriate access controls.
Docker container hosting
Container servers for running Docker-based applications. Ideal for microservices, modern application architectures, and deploying pre-packaged open source applications. We manage the host, networking and storage — you deploy your containers.
Private networks
Isolated network environments with dedicated firewalls. Your services communicate over private networks that are not shared with other clients. Firewall rules are configured to your requirements, with only the necessary ports exposed.
SSH gateway
Hardened SSH gateway servers provide secure access to your environment. All access is logged and auditable, with key-based authentication and configurable access controls.
Hosting locations
Infrastructure is hosted in European data centres, currently in France with UK locations planned. The choice to host in Europe is driven by the stringent EU data protection framework, which provides strong safeguards for your data regardless of where your organisation is based.
Who this is for
Our infrastructure services are suited to organisations that want their own environment — isolated, secured and managed — without the cost and complexity of building it themselves. A typical client might be a start-up wanting a mix of VMs and containers to run their bespoke applications, combined with commodity services like SSL, email and DNS.
We also support organisations migrating away from hyperscaler platforms who want to regain control of their infrastructure and reduce dependency on proprietary services.
Disaster recovery
Replication and backup services are available, including ZFS snapshot replication to secondary sites. Backup strategies are designed around your requirements — from simple file-level backups to full environment replication with regular tested restores.
