Application hosting

We deploy and manage open source applications as a service. You choose the software, we handle the infrastructure, configuration, integration and ongoing maintenance.

How it works

Rather than subscribing to a SaaS platform where you have no control, or managing your own servers where you carry all the responsibility, Cloudient provides a middle path. We run the applications on our own infrastructure, configured to your requirements, and manage them on your behalf.

This means you get the flexibility and freedom of open source software — no vendor lock-in, no data monetisation, full access to your data — with the convenience of a managed service.

Applications we specialise in

Odoo Community

Business management suite covering accounting, CRM, sales, purchasing, inventory and more. Cloudient is an OCA member and specialises in Odoo Community edition — all versions, OCA modules, custom modules, email integration, and upgrades.

See our dedicated Odoo Community hosting page »

Nextcloud

File storage, sharing and collaboration. A self-hosted alternative to cloud storage services, with full control over your data. We deploy Nextcloud with appropriate storage, user management, and integration with your other services.

Jitsi

Video conferencing for small groups of up to 15 participants. A self-hosted alternative to commercial video platforms, with no account requirements for guests. Suitable for team meetings, client calls, and regular collaboration.

PeerTube

Video hosting and delivery. Publish and share video content from your own infrastructure without relying on third-party platforms. Suitable for training materials, presentations, marketing content, and internal communications.

Identity and access management

Centralised authentication using OpenLDAP, LemonLDAP, or FusionIAM. Single sign-on across your applications, with proper user lifecycle management and access controls.

Bespoke and containerised applications

If your application runs in a Docker container or on a Linux VM, we can host it. This includes custom-built applications, niche open source tools, and development or staging environments. We work with you to understand the requirements and build an appropriate hosting environment.

What is included

Every managed application includes:

  • Initial deployment and configuration
  • SSL certificate provisioning and renewal
  • Monitoring and availability checks
  • Security updates and patching
  • Backup management
  • Email integration where applicable
  • DNS and domain configuration
  • Direct support from the team that built your environment

Additional services such as disaster recovery, custom integrations, and bespoke development are available on request.

Integration between applications

Because we host your applications on the same infrastructure using open source software and open standards, they can work together. Single sign-on across Odoo, Nextcloud, email and messaging. Telephony integrated with your CRM for caller ID and click-to-dial. Files shared between applications without duplication. Calendar and contacts synchronised across services.

This is a natural advantage of managed open source hosting — your applications share an environment rather than operating as isolated silos.
